Yarn

You’re welcome to use any weight of yarn for this project, as long as you’re crocheting with a suitable-sized crochet hook! Experimenting with different types of fibers can be fun as well, though the recommendation is 100% cotton to prevent the bag from stretching out of shape. For a larger bag, you can even hold yarn doubled and use a large crochet hook!
If you’d like to use the yarn I’m using, please check out Hobbii’s Frutta yarn! They come in so many vivid colors and seeing the variation work up makes crocheting a lot more fun.
Other 100% cotton yarns I would recommend for this project include:
    • Lion Brand’s 24/7 Cotton Yarn
    • Lily Sugar ‘N Cream Yarn

FO for the first ear, but do not FO for the second ear.
Continue with the “Edging” directions below.

    Part 3: EDGING

Sc around the ears and top edge of the bag until reaching the tip of the second ear (where the edging began). Join with a sl st to the first sc. FO and weave in the ends.

Both of the finishing suggestions below are optional. Feel free to customize your bag however you’d like!

    OPTIONAL EMBELLISHMENTS

If desired, insert plastic safety eyes for the bunny’s face. You can also embroider a nose, mouth, whiskers, and/or other details using thin yarn.

    OPTIONAL LINING

If desired, cut out the bag shape from two cloths (right-sides facing in). Stitch the sides together, and insert into the crocheted bag. Stitch the top edge inside of the crocheted bag. (Note: A cloth lining will prevent your bag from stretching out of shape.)
